There is an interesting and safe place to stop for lunch in Makindu (about 170 kms from Nairobi on your way to Voi), namely a Sikh Temple of Makindu. It provides "free" vegetarian lunch for any visitor, has a nice architecture (built in 1926) and clean toilets. The visitors may donate a small sum of Ksh to the temple to thank for the lunch service. Ken knows this place well!https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sikh_Temple_Makindu,_Makindu
